Bhutila Karpoche MPP, Parkdale–High Park

Government of Ontario

We are living in a climate crisis. Climate change is no longer only a problem we'll have to deal with in the future. It is an imminent emergency and it's is happening now. We need to take immediate and bold action to tackle climate change. Thats why on May 9th, the Ontario NDP tabled a motion to declare a climate emergency in OntarioOntario would be the first Canadian province or territory to declare a climate emergency if the NDP motion passes. Several cities throughout the province have already declared a climate emergency.

While the Ford government is actively working to dismantle our environmental regulations and measures to tackle climate change, we're working to save our planet. In addition to our motion to declare a climate emergency, members of our caucus has tabled bills to ban single-use plastics, and make sure big polluters pay. Locally in Parkdale–High Park we have a number of organizations doing incredible advocacy work including Green13, Roncy Recycles, the Zero Waste Hub, and many more.
