The Ontario Parliamentary Friends of Tibet (OPFT) is launching its first summer internship program. 

This paid internship program is to provide youth of Tibetan origin the opportunity to get a behind the scenes experience and on the job learning in a Member of Provincial Parliament’s Office. 

Modelled after the Parliamentary Friends of Tibet (PFT) federal internship program, this program will be focused on provincial governance and the Ontario Parliament. 

Application Deadline
11:59pm, April 20th, 2019

Internship Duration
May 1st to June 14th, 2019

Interns will be provided with readings to help them familiarize themselves with the workings of Parliament.

During the program, seminars will be organized to enhance the intern’s knowledge of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario and government structure. Meetings will also be held to reflect on and observe each other’s internship experiences. 

Varies in different offices. 

Application Criteria

  • Of Tibetan origin currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Canadian post-secondary educational institution
  • Interested in learning about day-to-day governance and the structure of Legislative Assembly of Ontario
  • Extracurricular activities including community involvement
  • Statement of Interest and resume
  • Two references
