I am launching a new initiative: Phone Your Government. This comes as a direct result of the question I get asked most often from constituents: What can I do to help?
This initiative is inspired by "phone zapping", a tool that has long been used in organizing. Phoning your government does three things very effectively: allows the government to hear directly the people’s voices on issues, increases visibility of the issue as phone messages are harder to miss or ignore, and when done consistently and in great numbers, phoning slows down the government’s ability to take action on issues that are not supported by the public.
Join me for our second meet-up on Monday February 4th, from 6-7pm at my Community Office (2849 Dundas St. W.) This is a great opportunity to let the government know your opinion on legislative changes made, and future direction. Please RSVP here.
