Over the past few months, there have been a number of updates on the COVID-19 vaccine in Ontario. Many are still wondering about the status of vaccination rollout in our community, where to get vaccinated, and about the vaccine itself. Join MPP Bhutila Karpoche and representatives from Toronto Public Health, St. Joseph’s Health Centre, and Four Villages Community Health Centre on Monday March 15, 2021 at 5 P.M. to learn more about COVID-19 vaccines and the vaccination rollout in Parkdale—High Park.

Domenico Calla
Domenico Calla is manager of the COVID-19 Community Engagement and Outreach Team at Toronto Public Health. As part of the City of Toronto's pandemic response, he has provided leadership on outreach activities focused on the communities and neighbourhoods hardest hit by COVID-19. Domenico is a Registered Social Worker and much of his career has focused on health equity and human rights.
Dr. Mark Downing
Mark Downing is the Associate Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control and Medical Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship at Unity Health Toronto. He is based out of St. Joseph’s Health Centre, where he previously served as Division Head for Infectious Diseases. He graduated from medical school at Dalhousie University, then went on to complete his residency in Internal Medicine in Ottawa and his fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the University of Toronto. He is also a graduate of the Rotman Advanced Health Leadership Program.
One of Mark’s primary areas of focus in 2020 has been to support Long Term Care through the COVID-19 pandemic. He is the medical lead for Unity Health on this front, representing stakeholders at the regional level and participating in onsite reviews, weekly community of practice meetings, and outbreak management. His main interest is to promote IPAC excellence through innovation and collaboration in all areas of our Toronto community.
Mark also lives in the High Park area and has been part of this community for 10 years.
Gillian Bone
Gillian Bone has been working with the Four Villages Community Health Centre for the past 2 years, where she is now the Integration and Strategic Project Lead. She is a member of the planning team with the West Toronto Ontario Health Team and is actively involved in the collaborative response to COVID-19 in the community.
Gillian is a physiotherapist by training and has worked in many areas of health care in Toronto over the past 30 years.
