TO THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ONTARIO:
WHEREAS in October 2018, the Government of Ontario made a promise to Grassy Narrows Reserve to promptly dig up the soil that had been shown to be polluted with mercury;
WHEREAS regardless of the abovementioned promise, no such action has been forthcoming; and mercury continues to leak into the Wabigoon-English River system;
WE THE UNDERSIGNED petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to: address this issue immediately and without further delay, including a complete clean-up of the Dryden Mill site and an implementation of the recommendations in the 2018 community health assessment report.
