TO THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ONTARIO:
WHEREAS Doug Ford’s new education scheme seeks to dramatically increase class sizes starting in Grade 4;
WHEREAS the changes will mean thousands fewer teachers and education workers, and less help for every student; WHEREAS secondary students will now be forced to take at least four of their classes online with as many as 35 students in each course;
WHEREAS Ford’s changes will rip over $1 Billion out of Ontario’s education system by the end of the government’s term; And
WHEREAS kids in Ontario deserve more opportunities, not fewer;
THEREFORE, WE THE UNDERSIGNED petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to: Demand that the government halt the cuts to classrooms, and invest to strengthen public education in Ontario.
